This Modern Struggle Magazine is honoured to share the beautiful words of My Inner Child, an exclusive unpublished poem by Canadian poet Ally Loyns.

I hear you

pleading

to be seen.

I see you

hidden

within my laughter.

I feel you

trying to integrate happiness

into pain.

I welcome you,

to exist - to live freely

within

our mind

body

and soul.

-my inner child

We are also proud to share below some excerpts of Ally’s other incredible poems from her first poetry collection A Generation of Sunflowers. Ally has also published her second poetry collection, Bloom.

Both books are available here.

Ally Loyns is a Canadian poet, musician, and BPD advocate who has called Winnipeg, Manitoba home since birth. Through raw and real poetic storytelling, she has a vision to embolden the healing journeys of people with Borderline everywhere by sharing her lived experience.
